Hawaiʻi Belt Road to be reduced to one lane at Hakalau Bridge with planned makai lane closure

The closure is necessary so repairs to the foundation of the bridge can continue, is necessary in preparation for the overall Hakalau Bridge Rehabilitation Project, which is expected to begin in fall 2027.

Speed to be reduced on portion of Kuakini Highway in Kona
