Lane closures scheduled through July 17 on several roadways around Big Island

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures planned for weekdays, unless otherwise noted, through July 17 on several Big Island roadways.

HIGHWAY 11

HILO TO VOLCANO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.0 and 36 in the vicinity of Banyan Drive, from from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for removal of existing striping and installation of new striping and pavement markers.

VOLCANO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 28 and 30 in the vicinity of Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Hawaiian Electric to remove old poles and conductors.

PĀHALA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 42 and 44, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for cutting vegetation.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 76 and 82 in the vicinity of Easement Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for restriping the intersections.

PĀPĀ

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 98 and 101 in the vicinity of Honokua Hui Road and Ke Alanui O Aʻoi, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for cutting vegetation.

CAPTAIN COOK TO HŌLUALOA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 109 and 119 in the vicinity of Koa Road and Queen Kaʻahumanu Highway, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for removal of existing striping and applying new striping and pavement markers.

HIGHWAY 19

HILO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.8 and 2.3 in the vicinity of Banyan Drive and Waiānuenue Avenue, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving and striping.

HONOMŪ

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 13 and 13.5 in the vicinity of Honomū Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for inspection and bridge maintenance.

NĪNOLE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 17.9 amd 18.2 in the vicinity of Government Main Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for work on Nanue Stream Bridge.

ʻŌʻŌKALA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 29.2 and 32 in the vicinity of Old Māmalahoa Highway, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for work on Kaholo Stream Bridge.

HIGHWAY 130

KEAʻAU TO PĀHOA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.0 and 21.8 in the vicinity of Māmalahoa Highway and Kaimū-Chain of Craters Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for removal of existing striping and applying new striping and pavement markers.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 10 and 12 in the vicinity of Pāhoa Village Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for cutting vegetation.

HIGHWAY 190

KALAʻOA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 30 and 35 in the vicinity Huʻehuʻe Ranch Road and Onaona Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for cutting vegetation and tree trimming.

HIGHWAY 200

UPPER WAIĀKEA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 5.1 and 13.9, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 11-17 for roadway emergency safety improvements.

PŌHAKULOA

  • SHOULDER CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 31 and 33 in the vicinity of Puʻuahi Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for removing vegetation and installation of new fencing.
