New streetlights being installed in downtown Hilo
Work to install eight new streetlights in downtown Hilo will begin on Wednesday, the Hawaiʻi County Department of Public Works announced.
Installation will occur along the storefronts on Kamehameha Avenue between Mamo and Haili streets. The work will be done between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and will last about two weeks.
During the project, large equipment will be in the area and parking stalls within the work zone will be temporarily unavailable.
The project is being conducted by Leleiwi Electric and the county’s Traffic Division.
