In reaction to a ban on feeding feral cats at Queensʻ Marketplace in Waikōloa Village in order to protect endanered nēnē, two local animal rescue organizations conducted a relocation project. They captured 64 felines and delivered them to homes across the Big Island — after being spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
