The body of 76-year-old Donald Lawrence Yukitomo of Hilo was discovered Sept. 14 on Kuawa Street in Hilo; police are investigating his death as a homicide, and anyone who might have information about Yukitomo or what might have happened is urged to contact them.

43-year-old Conrad Keanini-Gomes is charged with first-degree arson in the case of a fire Sept. 13 at a residence on his father’s property in the Puna community that endangered the lives of 4 people, including 2 minor children.

There have been 539 DUI arrests so far this year compared with 609 during the same period last year, representing a decrease of 11.49%.

33-year-old Krystal Hernandez is charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree promoting a detrimental drug following an incident Aug. 7 near the 75-5500 block of Kuakini Highway in Kailua-Kona.

Officer Joshua Flores of Hawaiʻi County has been celebrated for his decisive actions leading to the arrest of a wanted fugitive.
