Civil Defense: DLNR Reports Box Jellyfish at Some West Hawai‘i Beaches

Hawai’i County Civil Defense said Thursday afternoon that the state Department of Land and Natural Resources reports box jellyfish at Spencer Beach Park in South Kohala and at other West Hawai’i beaches.

High Surf Prompts Beach Closures

The Civil Defense said additional closures may occur at any time.

Small Craft Advisory

A small craft advisory remains in effect for Big Island windward and southeast waters until Sunday at 6 a.m.

Small Craft Warning in Effect: Strong Trade Winds Continue

A Small Craft Advisory is in effect through 6 p.m. Thursday for Pailolo Channel, Alenuihaha Channel and leeward and southeast waters around the Big Island.
