Stewardship at the Summit Programs Seeks Volunteers

Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park is looking for volunteers for its “Stewardship at the Summit” programs to ensure the future of the Hawaiian rainforest at the summit of Kīlauea volcano for the next 100 years.

DOH Reminder: New Tobacco, E-Cig Laws Go Into Effect Jan. 1

The Hawai‘i State Department of Health is reminding the public that, effective Jan. 1, 2016, residents and visitors alike must be at least age 21 years old in order to buy tobacco products and electronic smoking devices (e-cigarettes) in the state.

Three-Vehicle Collision Results in Two Fatalities

Hawai‘i Island police reported today that two Kea‘au residents, a 26-year-old man and an 86-year-old woman, were killed Tuesday, Dec. 29, in a three-vehicle collision on the Keaʻau-Pāhoa Road (Route 130) near the two-mile marker in Keaʻau.
