The Hawai‘i Police Department reports that Highway 130 near the Kea‘au Transfer Station is now open in both directions.

News sources report that the road is closed to a fatal vehicle accident.

Highway 130—the Kea‘au-Pahoa Highway—is closed in both directions at the Kea‘au transfer station. Motorists are advised to use the Road 8/Ainaloa Boulevard emergency access route until further notice.
