Honoka’a Library to Reopen Sooner than Expected
After closing last Thursday due to a staffing shortage, the Honoka’a Public Library is expected to reopen earlier than expected.
Hawai’i State Public Library System officials said Thursday that the closure would last through Aug. 24. However, HSPLS Information Specialist Paul Mark recently told Big Island Now that the library would reopen Tuesday at 9 a.m.
Mark said the closure was caused by scheduling issues that arose after unforeseen circumstances with the library’s two service staff members.
According to Mark, a resolution has been identified allowing for the reopening of the library.
