Honoka’a Public Library is being forced to close temporarily due to a staffing shortage. The closure is scheduled to last until Monday, Aug. 24 at 11 a.m.

During the closure, the book drop will remain open for individuals wishing to return library materials. All books that have a check out date from Aug. 11 to Aug. 24 will be extended at the Honoka’a Public Library.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused our Honoka’a Public Library patrons,” said State Librarian Stacey Aldrich.

Despite the library closure, patrons can still visit the Hawai’i State Public Library System website. Library officials remind the public of the available resources online:

  • Renew books
  • Browse the HSPLS catalog for books, eBooks, digital audio books, and online databases
  • “Ask-A-Librarian”
