17 lane closures scheduled during week of March 7-13 on Big Island state roadways

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 17 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Big Island state roadways on weekdays throughout the week of March 7-13.

HIGHWAY 11

HILO TO VOLCANO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 36 in the vicinity of Banyan Drive, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 9-13 for removal of existing striping and installation of centerline rumble strip, striping and pavement markers.

NĀʻĀLEHU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 66 and 68 in the vicinity of Kamakina Street and 68 Mile Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 9-13 for cutting the grass and tree trimming.

KĪPĀHOEHOE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 89 and 91 in the vicinity of Pāpālani Place, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 9-13 for cutting the grass and tree trimming.

CAPTAIN COOK TO HŌLUALOA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 109 and 118.8 in the vicinity of Koa Road and Lako Street, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 9-13 for removal of existing striping, new striping and permanent markers.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 11.5 and 15 in the vicinity of Overpass Road and Chin Chuck Road, from March 7-13 for emergency zone work and pavement repair.

HONOMŪ

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction near mile post 12.9, in the vicinity of Pua Lane, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. March 9-13 for maintaining lane markings and pavement markers.

NĪNOLE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 17.9 and 18.2 in the vicinity of Government Main Road, from 8:30 a.m. 3 p.m. March 9-13 for work on Nanue Bridge.

PĀPAʻALOA TO LAUPĀHOEHOE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 21 and 27 in the vicinity of Kaihuiki Road and Jardine Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 9-2 p.m. for cutting trees and shoulder work.

ʻŌʻŌKALA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 29.8 and 32 in the vicinity of Kaʻawaliʻi Road and Government Main Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 9-13 for work on Kāholo Stream Bridge.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 34 and 44 in the vicinity of Mauna Kea Ranch Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 9-13 for bridge maintenance.

HIGHWAY 130

KEAʻAU TO PĀHOA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 21 in the vicinity of Māmalahoa Highway and Kaimū-Chain of Craters Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 9-13 for removal of existing striping and applying new striping and pavement markers.

KEAʻAU TO PĀHOA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 10 in the vicinity of Māmalahoa Highway, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 9-13 for cutting the grass.

PĀHOA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 17 and 19 in the vicinity of Old Kalapana Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 9-13 for mulching and shoulder work.

HIGHWAY 190

WAIMEA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 1 in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lālamilo Farm Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 9-13 for installation of new striping.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 12.2 and 16.4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 9-13 for installation of new striping.

HIGHWAY 250

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 17 and 19 in the vicinity of Mamo Street and ʻAkoni Pule Highway, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 9-13 for tree trimming and shoulder work.

HIGHWAY 2000

HILO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.5 and 2.2 in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 9-13 for repairing and painting asphalt curbs and directional arrows.
