Hawaiʻi County’s Department of Water Supply will install a new water service line along Keaʻau-Pāhoa Road (Highway 130) in Puna on Tuesday through Friday, Feb. 17-20.

The work is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. daily, between mile markers 6 and 7 of Highway 130.

During construction hours, traffic will be reduced to alternating one-lane flow. Police officers and electronic message boards will be on site to manage traffic and alert drivers to changing conditions.

Officials are advising motorists to plan for delays and use caution when traveling through the area. Residents with questions about the project may contact Daniel Taka Jr., district supervisor with the Department of Water Supply, at 808-961-8790.
