Hawai‘i Police Department reported earlier this morning (Nov. 15) that Wainaku Street, north of Halaulani Place, in Hilo is again open to all traffic after being closed for several hours.

That portion of the roadway was shuttered Friday evening (Nov. 14) because of a downed tree across the street. Police at the time advised motorists to avoid the area for at least 3 hours.

Hawai‘i Police Department thanks the public for its patience and cooperation.
