Police ask if anyone has seen 14-year-old runaway

This story was updated at 9:36 a.m. with a Hawai‘i Police Department correction for the runaway’s name. The department said it regrets the error and any confusion it might have caused.

Hawai‘i Island police are asking if anyone might have seen a 14-year-old who was recently reported to have ran away late last week in Puna.

Cruz Deanda was last seen at 5 p.m. Aug. 22 on 29th Avenue in Hawaiian Paradise Park.

He is described as white, about 6 feet tall, 160 pounds, with a fair complexion, thin build and brown hair and eyes.

Anyone with information about Cruz’s whereabouts is urged to call Hawai‘i Police Department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311 or contact Officer Lauren Antolin via email at Lauren.antolin@hawaiipolice.gov.
