Nearly 40 businesses, nonprofit organizations and government agencies are ready to fill vacancies with Hawaiʻi Island residents.

In hopes of filling positions, the Hawaiʻi Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, the County of Hawaiʻi’s Department of Research and Development, American Job Center and Goodwill Industries are partnering to host a hiring event at the Prince Kuhio Plaza in Hilo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Participants are encouraged to bring resumes, licenses or training certificates as onsite interviews will be available. Additionally, there will be educational and training resources, career coaching, and resume reviews offered to help participants along their career path.

In light of the rapid changes to thousands of federal workers, Gov. Josh Green signed an executive order Operation Hire Hawaiʻi, a targeted outreach initiative with an expedited state hiring process, fast-tracking qualified candidates into job opportunities throughout the islands.
