3rd Circuit Court seeks independent grand jury counsel in Hilo and Kona

The Hawai‘i Judiciary is seeking applicants for a one-year appointment as independent grand jury counsel for the 3rd Circuit Court in Hilo and Kona.

Whenever a grand jury is impaneled, an independent counsel shall be appointed, as provided by law, to advise members of the grand jury regarding matters brought before it.

The chief justice of the Hawai‘i Supreme Court appoints grand jury counsel for the four judicial circuits of the state, selecting from among those individuals licensed to practice law in the state who are not public employees.

Those interested in being considered for appointment to either Hilo or Kona should submit a letter indicating their interest and a resume by Jan. 31, 2023, to: Chief Judge Robert D.S. Kim, Keahuolu Courthouse, 74-5451 Kamakaeha Ave., Kailua-Kona, Hawai’i 96740.
