Kelis Garmon-Mercado

Big Island police are asking for the public’s help with locating a missing teen.

The Hawai‘i Police Department reports that 17-year-old Kelis Garmon-Mercado was reported as a runaway.

Garmon-Mercado was last seen shortly before 10 p.m. Monday, June 27, in the 1700 block of Kino‘ole Street in Hilo, wearing a white/pink tie-dye sweater and a black tutu. She is described as Caucasian, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall with a large build, weighing 290 pounds, with black curly hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about Garmon-Mercado’s whereabouts is asked to call the police department’s nonemergency line at 808-935-3311.
