The Hawai’i Police Department says public tips have assisted in the identification of a woman who was caught on a surveillance image shoplifting from a Downtown Hilo retail establishment on May 19.

Police did not identify the woman publicly, as the investigation is ongoing.

“Police thank the public for their assistance,” a news release from the department read.
