Following the week-long closure of Umauma Bridge as the result of excess water flow beneath the bridge, reconstruction work has resumed, according to the State of Hawai’i Department of Transportation.

Weekend and night work is scheduled at the bridge, which is located near mile marker 16 on Highway 19.

The roadway on the bridge remains under a seven-day-a-week, 24-hour schedule as bridge rehabilitation work is underway.

Speed on the bridge is reduced to 20 miles per hour.

All lane closures are weather permitting and have the possibility of changing without notice.
