Hilo to PTA Convoy Scheduled Next Week

In addition to the convoy traveling from Pohakuloa Training Area to Kawaihae Harbor, the United States Army Garrison has announced a convoy from Hilo to PTA.

Oahu-based service members are scheduled to travel the roads between Keaukaha Military Reservation in Hilo and PTA beginning on Wednesday, May 27 through Friday, May 29 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Roads used during the convoys will include: Hilo Airport Road, Kanoelehua Avenue, West Puainako Street, Komohana Avenue, Puainako Extension, Route 2000, and the Daniel K. Inouye Highway. Hawai’i Police Department officers will escort the convoys.

Motorists using the aforementioned roads are advised to drive with caution and remain alert.

Local authorities, military units, and the PTA Department of Army police have worked together to coordinate the convoys in support of unit training.
