Wanted Man Located Following Stolen Vehicle Incident

A 24-year-old Mountain View man has been arrested on multiple charges following a stolen vehicle incident.

According to the Hawai’i Police Department, a 38-year-old woman reported early Wednesday morning that her 1992 Honda Accord had been removed from the Prince Kuhio Plaza parking lot.

Puna Patrol officers recovered the stolen vehicle some time later, which also led to the location and arrest of Daesyn Pacheco-Muragin.

Pacheco-Muragin was wanted for various other offenses and was also arrested on those unrelated cases, including three counts of contempt of court. He was held at the Hilo police cellblock while detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigations Section continued their investigations.

On Thursday, Pacheco-Muragin appeared in court for his contempt charges, but was returned to the police cellblock.

At 5:42 p.m. Thursday, detectives charged Pacheco-Muragin with second-degree theft, first-degree terroristic threatening, abuse of a family/household member, unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, promoting a detrimental drug, and two counts each of promoting a dangerous drug and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Pacheco-Muragin’s bail was set at $15,250. He was released into the custody of Hawai’i Community Correctional Center pending his initial court appearance for the charges Friday.
