Active Shooter Presentation to be Held in Nāʻālehu
The Hawai’i Police Department will hold an “active shooter” presentation in Nāʻālehu on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
The presentation will be held at 2 p.m. at the Nāʻālehu Community Center.
The purpose of the presentation is to prepare members of the public for the unlikely chance that they may run into an active shooting or violent incident.
Previous active shooter talks have been held in the Laupāhoehoe, North Kohala, Puna, Waimea, and Hilo districts this year.
According to an HPD release, information will be provided on on previous violent cases, the best practices for those caught in those situations, how law enforcement responds, and community prevention. Additional resources will be provided and a question-and-answer session will follow.
