Police Investigate Puna Burglary

Hawaiʻi Island police are investigating a home invasion burglary that occurred early Sunday in Puna.

According to a police report, Puna Patrol officers responded to a report about 3 a.m. at 15-1700 block of 25th Avenue in the Hawaiian Paradise park subdivision.

A 66-year-old man reportedly woke up to find two unidentified men in his bedroom. He was punched and threatened with a knife and with additional physical harm.

Officials say the victim had numerous items missing from his house, including guitars and electronic equipment.

Estimated value of the stolen goods is $2,495.

The suspects were described only as local males with one wearing a mask.
