Fire Destroys Addition to Hawaiian Beaches Home

Fire department investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire early Sunday that destroyed a single-room addition to a home in the Hawaiian Beaches subdivision in Puna.

Firefighters from the Pahoa station arriving at the home on Nenue Street at 3:47 a.m. found the addition in flames.

Damage to the 500-square-foot room was estimated at $12,500.

No injuries were reported.
