TRAFFIC ALERT: Highway 19 at Kaawalii Gulch Reopens

All lanes of Highway 19 at Kaawalii Gulch have been reopened.

One lane of traffic is closed along Highway 19 at Kaawalii Gulch.

The Hawai’i Police Department reports that the closure is the result of a rock slide.
Currently, there are no alternate routes available and delays are expected in the area.
State of Hawai’i Highway Division crews are responding to the rock slide, however, it is unknown when the roadway will reopen.
