1:04 p.m. Feb. 23 update: Highway 11 in Captain Cook near mile marker 108 is now open. 

Original post: A portion of Highway 11 in South Kona is closed for the next several hours following a multi-vehicle crash this morning.

The road is closed in both directions near mile marker 108 between Nanaina Lani Place and Rabbitt Hill Road. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.
