Present on the field Sunday were Lahainaluna head football coach Dean Rickard, offensive coach Garrett Tihada, former coach Bobby Watson and athletic director John Conrad. Team captains joined their coaches on the field: Kaulana Tihada, Morgan “Bula” Montgomery, Teva Loft and Kuola Watson.

The Hawai’i County Council celebrated the Konawaena High School Wildcats on Wednesday before moving on to agenda items during its regular session meeting. Konawaena High School swept all of the top awards after an 11-2 season that led to a state semifinal appearance.

In just over two years as Kea’au High School’s football coach, Kalei Young compiled a 1-21 record.
