Hawai‘i Island police seek help finding teen girl

The 16-year-old was last seen in the Ainaloa Subdivision area in Pāhoa on Tuesday at approximately 4:35 p.m.

Suspected stove fire damages Pāhoa home

Hawai‘i Fire Department responded the fire, located on Silversword Drive in Ainaloa Subdivision, at 3:39 p.m. When crews arrived on scene they found a 30-foot-by 40-foot wood structure involved in flames.

Lava Causes Brush Fire in Ainaloa Area

A brush fire 1.5 miles from the Ainaloa subdivision has occurred as a result of the June 27 lava flow.

UPDATE: ‘Runaway Siren’ Shut Off By Itself; Repairs Planned

Initial efforts to shut the siren off from Civil Defense headquarters in Hilo were unsuccessful.
