Seven Big Island Students Awarded Scholarships
Seven recently graduated seniors have been awarded college scholarships by the HFS Federal Credit Union.
The $2,500 scholarships were given on the basis of the recipients’ academic excellence, personal and career goals, financial need and community involvement. Candidates also needed to have membership in good standing with the credit union.
This year’s recipients were Christina Chow of Keaau High School, Natcha Srivichai of Pahoa High School, Dallas Tada of Kamehameha Schools Hawaii, Mahealani Yoshida of Konawaena High School and Zena Kiyota, Owen Sandstrom and Kellie Iwasaki of Waiakea High School.
The financial institution said it was “proud to support the educational goals of the students in our community and we wish these students the best of luck in their educational endeavors.”
