HELCO Seeking Public Input on Five-Year Action Plan

Hawaii Electric Light Co. will hold public meetings over the next three days to solicit public comment on its five-year action plan.

The meetings are scheduled for Tuesday at the Aupuni Center Conference Room at 101 Pauahi St. in Hilo, Wednesday at 96-1149 Kamani St. in Pahala, and Thursday at King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel at 75-5660 Palani Dr. in Kailua-Kona.

All three meetings are scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m.

An action plan, which are also being established for Hawaiian Electric Industries subsidiaries on Oahu and Maui, is part of the Integrated Resource Planning process which is designed to look at how the utilities will meet future energy needs.

The utility companies intend to file their action plans with the state Public Utilities Commission by June 28.

A spokesman for HEI said all comments will be considered in the development of the plans.
