The Hawai‘i Island police are seeking tips regarding the whereabouts of a mother and her two children who are involved in a custodial interference case from Minnesota.

Police are looking for 36-year-old Avery Tompson, who may also go by the names Brita Yohanna, Brita Springstead and/or Sara Anatoli, as well as her two children, 12-year-old Gunner Garcia and 6-year-old Alilyana “Monroe” Majka, who may now go by the name Lily Tompson.

Hawaiʻi Island police said in a press release they are aware aware of social media posts circulating regarding the custodial interference investigation and they are aware that members of the public have been sharing information online in an effort to assist in locating Tompson and the children.

The Hawai‘i Police Department’s Area II Juvenile Aid Section has been investigating information regarding their possible presence on Hawai‘i Island. However, information developed during the investigation indicates that Tompson, the children, and the other individuals believed to be traveling with them are currently not in Hawai‘i County.

Tompson may be traveling with 42-year-old Pace Gregory Palmer, who may also go by the name Ryan Tompson. Palmer may also be accompanied by his 2-year-old daughter, whose name is not being released.

According to information provided by the Brainerd Police Department in Minnesota, Tompson allegedly left Minnesota with the children and concealed their whereabouts from their respective fathers in violation of a custodial arrangement. Information provided to police has also raised concerns regarding the safety and welfare of the children.

Although current information indicates the individuals are not in Hawai‘i County, the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information regarding their current whereabouts is encouraged to contact Detective Aaron Yamanaka of the Area II Juvenile Aid Section at 808-326-4646, ext. 3304, or by email at Aaron.yamanaka@hawaiipolice.gov.
