First celebrated in 2013, Hawaiʻi Island LGBTQ+ Pride has become an annual gathering of the beautiful, diverse community of the Big Island.

According to organizers, the main focus every year is to bring members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies together in a fun, casual setting. By continuing to gather every year, the community affirms its fundamental rights and rightful place in a free society.

The Hawaiʻi Island LGBTQ+ Pride Committee works with many community partners to create events year-round for the LGBTQ+ community. This year, the committee is focused on increasing outreach to LGBTQ+ youth, increasing involvement by the Native Hawaiian community and facilitating more participation by West Hawaiʻi.
