Daniel K. Inouye Highway reopens to one lane following closure in South Hilo

UPDATE: June 4, 2026, 1:03 p.m. | Hawaiʻi Police report that the Daniel K. Inouye Highway, previously reported as closed in South Hilo, is now open to one lane of traffic.
Original Post: A portion of Daniel K. Inouye Highway is closed for the next three hours following a traffic crash.
The highway is closed in South Hilo near mile marker 18. Motorists are advised to use an alternate route.
