20 lane closures scheduled during week of April 25-May 1 on Big Island state roadways

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 20 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Big Island state roadways on weekdays throughout the week of April 25-May 1.

HIGHWAY 11

HILO TO VOLCANO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 0.0 to 36, in the vicinity of Banyan Drive, on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for removal of existing striping and installation of centerline rumble strip, striping, and pavement markers.

PĀHALA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 48 to 50, on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for cutting vegetation.

NĀʻĀLEHU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 62.4 to 70.2, on Monday, April 27 to Thursday, April 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installing thermoplastic markers.

KĪPĀHOEHOE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 93 to 96, in the vicinity of Ohia Malu Road and Kaohe Road, on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for tree trimming and mowing the grass.

HONALO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction near mile post 113.2, in the vicinity of Kahili Drive and St. Paul Road, on Thursday, April 30 to Friday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of speed humps and speed table.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 115 to 116, in the vicinity of Puuloa Road and Walua Road, on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for cutting vegetation.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 1 to 2.7, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Pauahi Street on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for cutting vegetation.

PĀPAʻIKOU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 5 to 8, in the vicinity of Kahoa Place and Indian Tree Road, on Monday, April 27 and Tuesday, April 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for cutting vegetation.

PEPE‘EKEO MILL TO WAILEA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 11.5 to 15, in the vicinity of Overpass Road and Chin Chuck Road, on Monday, April 27 to Thursday, April 30 for striping. One lane open for alternating traffic.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 17.9 to 18.2, in the vicinity of Government Main Road, on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for work on Nanue Bridge.

PĀPAʻALOA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 21 to 22, in the vicinity of Kaihuiki Road and Uweki Road, on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for tree trimming and shoulder work.

ʻŌʻŌKALA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 29.8 to 32, in the vicinity of Kaawalii Road, on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for work on Kaholo Stream Bridge.

WAIMEA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 55.4.8 to 56.5, in the vicinity of Cheseboro Lane and Puaklani Road, on Monday, April 27 to Thursday, April 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of curbs.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 0.0 to 21, in the vicinity of Mamalahoa Highway and Kaimu-Chain of Craters Road, on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for removal of existing striping and applying new striping and pavement markers.

HIGHWAY 190

WAIMEA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 0.0 to 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lalamilo Farm Road on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installing new striping and turn pockets.

SOUTH KOHALA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 12.2 to 16.4, on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of new striping.

HIGHWAY 250

KAPAʻAU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 2 to 6, on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for shoulder work and vegetation cutting.

HIGHWAY 270

KAWAIHAE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 1 to 2, on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for bridge inspection and repairs.

HIGHWAY 2000

HILO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 0.5 to 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for repairing and painting asphalt curbs and direction arrows.
