18 lane closures scheduled during week of April 4-10 on Big Island state roadways

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following 18 scheduled lane closures and road work projects on Big Island state roadways on weekdays throughout the week of April 4-10.

HIGHWAY 11

HILO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 5 in the vicinity of Banyan Drive, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 6-10 for mechanical mowing/cutting grass.

HILO TO VOLCANO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 36 in the vicinity of Banyan Drive, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 6-10 for removal of existing striping and installation of centerline rumble strip, striping and pavement markers.

MOUNTAIN VIEW

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 17 and 19 in the vicinity of Lehuanani Street, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 6-10 for shoulder work.

PĀHALA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 45 and 49 in the vicinity of Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 6-10 for mechanical mowing and cutting grass.

KĪPĀHOEHOE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 90 and 93 in the vicinity of Yee Hop Ranch Road and ʻŌhiʻa Malu Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 6-10 for tree trimming and mechanical mowing.

CAPTAIN COOK TO HŌLUALOA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 109 and 118 in the vicinity of Koa Road and Judd Trail, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 6-10 for removal of existing striping and installing new striping and pavement markers.

KEAHOU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 114 and 115 in the vicinity of West Honalo Road and Puʻuloa Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 6-10 for mechanical mowing.

PEPE‘EKEO MILL TO WAILEA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 11.5 and 15 in the vicinity of Overpass Road and Chin Chuck Road, from April 6-12 for emergency road repairs. One lane open for alternating traffic.

NĪNOLE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 17.9 and 18.2 in the vicinity of Government Main Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 6-10 for work on Nanue Bridge.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 21 and 22 in the vicinity of Kaihuiki Road and Uweki Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 6-10 for tree trimming and shoulder work.

ʻŌʻŌKALA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 29.8 and 32 in the vicinity of Kaʻawaliʻi Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 6-10 for work on Kāholo Stream Bridge.

HIGHWAY 130

KEAʻAU TO KAIMŪ

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0 and 21 in the vicinity of Māmalahoa Highway and Kaimū-Chain of Craters Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 6-10 for removal of existing striping and applying new striping and pavement markers.

KEAʻAU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, near mile post 2.5 in the vicinity of Keaʻau Transfer Station, from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 7-8 for replacement of traffic detectors.

HIGHWAY 190

WAIMEA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.0 and 1 in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lālamilo Farm Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 6-10 for installing new striping and turn pockets.

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 12.2 and 16.4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 6-10 for installation of new striping.

HIGHWAY 200

PŌHAKULOA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction with intermittent stops, between mile posts 27 and 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 8 for maintenance work.

HIGHWAY 250

HĀWĪ

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 19 and 19.2 in the vicinity of ʻAkoni Pule Highway and Old Millstack Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 6-10 for shoulder work and mechanical mowing.

HIGHWAY 2000

HILO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.5 and 2.2 in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 6-10 for repairing and painting asphalt curbs and direction arrows.
