The U.S. Geological Survey’s Hawaiian Volcano Observatory website is currently offline, officials said Sunday.

The outage appears to be part of a broader issue affecting U.S. Geological Survey public websites. Despite the website being down, the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory’s ability to monitor volcanic and seismic activity remains unaffected.

All internal monitoring systems, including the HANS/VNS system that sends alerts to emergency management and public subscribers, are fully operational. Hawaiian Volcano Observatory is one of five volcano observatories within the U.S. Geological Survey and is responsible for monitoring volcanoes and earthquakes in Hawaiʻi and American Samoa.
