Update at 11:24 p.m. Dec. 24, 2025: Hawai‘i Police Department reports that Daniel K. Inouye Highway is open to all traffic. The roadway was closed in both directions earlier during the night Wednesday near the 14-mile marker because of a traffic crash.
Authorities thank the public for its cooperation.
Original post from 8:09 p.m. Dec. 24, 2025: Hawai‘i Police Department advises the public to avoid Daniel K. Inouye Highway, also known as Saddle Road, near the 14-mile marker for at least the next 4 hours.
The road is closed in both directions because of a traffic crash.
