Hawaiian Airlines is saying goodbye to its HA callsign this month after almost 100 years of the airline’s existence.

The commemorative flight, HA 866, will take off on Oct. 29. After that, the flight will assume Alaska Airlines’ callsign AS as the two companies integrate under a single operating certificate.

Alaska reached a deal in December 2023 to purchase Hawaiian Airlines for approximately $1.9 billion. Alaska Air Group, Inc. will acquire the airline for $18 per share cash. Alaska Air will also take on Hawaiian’s $0.9 billion net debt.

Simple Flying reports Hawaiian Airlines will gradually shift into Alaska’s systems, with the historic Hawaiian Airlines code slated to disappear by around April 2026 as booking and branding begin to consolidate.
