U.S. Postal Service hiring for holiday help on the Big Island

The U.S. Postal Service is preparing for the busy holiday season and is seeking to hire new employees across Hawai’i to assist with Santa’s deliveries.

On the Big Island, there are 29 available positions at post offices in Hilo, Kailua-Kona and Kamuela, with assignments running from Nov. 15 to Dec. 26.

All three post offices have temporary holiday clerk assistant positions that involves sorting and distributing mail and packages.

Only at the Hilo Post Office, there also is a holiday carrier assistant position that is responsible for delivering and collecting mail and packages.

The starting pay for the position is $20.59 per hour, plus a cost-of-living adjustment. Job postings will be open from Friday to Tuesday or until positions are filled.
