Update 11:30 a.m., Sept. 24:Law enforcement has reopened 29th Avenue in the Hawaiian Paradise Park Subdivision.

Kaloli Drive and Paradise Drive were closed for about an hour and a half due to police activity.

The area has now been cleared.

Original Post: The Hawaiʻi Police Department is currently maintaining a significant police presence on 29th Avenue in Hawaiian Paradise Park in Kea‘au.

Officers are currently responding to an ongoing situation, and the roadway between Kaloli Drive and Paradise Drive has been shut down, as noted in the press release.
