Scheduled Hawai‘i Island lane closures on state roadways for Aug. 10-15

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures and road work projects for state roadways on the Big Island during the week of Aug. 10-15.

NOTE: In observance of Statehood Day, Aug. 15, there will be no contraflow and lane closures unless otherwise permitted.

HIGHWAY 11

HILO

• Single lane closure in the southbound direction between mile post 2 to 2.2, in the vicinity of East Puainako Street and East Kahaopea, on Monday, August 11 to Thursday, August 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for maintaining markings in the turn pockets.

HŌNAUNAU

• Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 106 to 108, in the vicinity of Honaunau School and Government Main Road, on Monday, August 11 to Thursday, August 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass and shoulder work.

KEAʻAU TO KURTISTOWN

• Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 7 to 9, in the vicinity of Old Volcano Road on Monday, August 11 to Thursday, August 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass, mulching, and shoulder work.

OCEAN VIEW

• Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 70 and 76, vicinity of Easement Road, on Monday, August 11 to Thursday, August 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for removal of existing striping, striping, installation of centerline, rumble strip and pavement markers.

PĀHALA

• Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 52 to 54, on Monday, August 11 to Thursday, August 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

PAPA

• Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 84 and 86, vicinity of Old Mamalahoa Highway, on Monday, August 11 to Thursday, August 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for removal of existing striping, striping, installation of centerline, rumble strip and pavement markers.
• Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 89 and 93.5, vicinity of Papalani Place, on Monday, August 11 to Thursday, August 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for removal of existing striping, striping, installation of centerline, rumble strip and pavement markers.

VOLCANO

• Roving lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 28 to 28.5, in the vicinity of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, on Monday, August 11 to Thursday, August 14 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for HELCO to install a new pole and wiring.

HIGHWAY 19

HILO

• Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 3.5 to 4.5, in the vicinity of Kahoa Street, on Monday, August 11 to Thursday, August 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for tree trimming, mulching, and shoulder work.

PĀPAʻALOA

• Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 23 to 24, in the vicinity of Koi Place and Papaaloa Avenue on Monday, August 11 to Thursday, August 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for bridge maintenance.

PĀPAʻIKOU

• Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 5 to 7, in the vicinity of Kahoa Place, on Monday, August 11 to Thursday, August 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

WELOKA

• Single lane closure possible in either direction in the vicinity of mile post 23.1, at Kaaluu Bridge on Monday, August 11 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for bridge maintenance.

HIGHWAY 130

PĀHOA

• Shoulder closure in the southbound direction between mile post 6.9 to 7.1, in the vicinity of 33rd Avenue and Makuu Drive, on Monday, August 11 to Thursday, August 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of a street light foundation.

HIGHWAY 190

HĀWĪ

• Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 14 to 20, in the vicinity of Ala Kahua Drive on Monday, August 11 to Thursday, August 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for tree trimming and shoulder work.

SOUTH KOHALA

• Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 12.2 to 16.4, in the vicinity of Saddle Road on Monday, August 11 to Thursday, August 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for striping of lane lines, turn pockets, and direction arrows.

WAIMEA

• Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 0 to 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lalamilo Farm Road, on Monday, August 11 to Thursday, August 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for striping.

HIGHWAY 2000

HILO

• Single lane closure possible in either direction between mile post 0.5 to 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday, Augst 11 to Thursday, August 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for striping and installing new raised pavement markers.
