Scheduled Hawai‘i Island lane closures on state roadways for June 28-July 4

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures and road work projects for state roadways on the Big Island during the week of June 28-July 4.

NOTE: In observance of the 4th of July, there will be no contraflow or lane closures unless otherwise permitted.

KANOELEHUA AVENUE (HIGHWAY 11)

HILO

  • POCKET CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 3.5 and 3.6, in the vicinity of Kīlauea Avenue and Hale Manu Drive, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 30-July 3 for maintaining the island and arrows and markings.

MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 11)

PĀHALA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 46 and 48, in the vicinity of Kapāpala Ranch Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today (June 28) for cutting grass.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 48 and 50 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 30-July 3 for cutting grass.

HŌNAUNAU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 97 and 100, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and Waea Dump, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today (June 28) for cutting grass.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 97 and 104, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and Filipino Clubhouse Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 30-July 3 for safety improvements.

CAPTAIN COOK

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 108 and 109, in the vicinity of Government Main Road and Koa Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 30-July 3 for cutting grass.

VOLCANO ROAD (HIGHWAY 11)

MOUNTAIN VIEW

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 17 and 21, vicinity of Mauna Kea Drive and Kahaualeʻa Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today (June 28) for mowing grass and shoulder work.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 19 and 21 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 30-July 3 for mowing grass and shoulder work.

HAWAIʻI BELT ROAD (HIGHWAY 19)

LAPĀHOEHOE TO ʻŌʻŌKALA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 25 and 29.4, in the vicinity of Puualaea Homestead Road and Niu Village Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today (June 28) for cutting grass.

HONOKAʻA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 42 and 43, in the vicinity of Honokaʻa Country Club, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today (June 28) for tree trimming and shoulder work.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 42 and 46 in the vicinity of Māmalahoa Highway and Hāmākua Forest Reserve from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 30-July 3 for tree trimming, cutting grass and shoulder work.

MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 190)

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0 and 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lālamilo Farm Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 30-July 3 for paving and striping.

SOUTH KOHALA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 12.2 and 16.4, in the vicinity of Saddle Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. June 30-July 3 for paving and striping.

KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (HIGHWAY 250)

KAPA‘AU

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 8 and 10, in the vicinity of Kohala Ranch Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today (June 28) for tree trimming and shoulder work.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 8 and 10, in the vicinity of Kohala Ranch Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 30-July 3 for tree trimming and shoulder work.

PŪʻAINAKŌ STREET (HIGHWAY 2000)

HILO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.5 and 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 30-July 3 for striping and installing new raised pavement markers.
