Scheduled Hawai‘i Island lane closures on state roadways for June 22-27

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures and road work projects for state roadways on the Big Island during the week of June 22-27.

VOLCANO ROAD (HIGHWAY 11)

MOUNTAIN VIEW

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 17 and 21, in the vicinity of Mauna Kea Drive and Kahaualeʻa Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 23-27 for mowing grass and shoulder work.

MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 11)

PĀHALA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 46 and 48, in the vicinity of Kapāpala Ranch Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 23-27 for cutting grass.

HŌNAUNAU

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 97 and 100, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and Waea Dump, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 23-27 for cutting grass.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 97 and 104, in the vicinity of Haleli Road and Filipino Clubhouse Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 23-27 for safety improvements.

HAWAIʻI BELT ROAD (HIGHWAY 19)

LAPĀHOEHOE TO ʻŌʻŌKALA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 25 and 29.4, in the vicinity of Puualaea Homestead Road and Niu Village Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 23-27 for cutting grass.

ʻŌʻŌKALA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 32.6 and 32.7, in the vicinity of Kaʻala Bridge, from noon to 3 p.m. June 26 for routine bridge inspection.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 33 and 33.1, in the vicinity of Kekualele Bridge, from 8 a.m. to noon June 26 for routine bridge inspection.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction in the vicinity of mile post 33.6 at Kukaiau Bridge from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 25 for routine bridge inspection.

HONOKA‘A

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 42 and 43, in the vicinity of Honoka‘a Country Club, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 23-27 for tree trimming and shoulder work.

MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 190)

WAIMEA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0 and 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lālamilo Farm Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 23-27 for paving and striping.

SOUTH KOHALA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 12.2 and 16.4, in the vicinity of Saddle Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. June 23-27 for paving and striping.

DANIEL K. INOUYE HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 200)

HILO

• RIGHT LANE CLOSURE in the westbound direction between mile posts 0.9 and 2.7, in the vicinity of Ua Nahele Street and Kuakolu Place, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 25-26 for training on a device to measure pavement smoothness.

KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (HIGHWAY 250)

KAPA‘AU

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 8 and 10, in the vicinity of Kohala Ranch Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 23-27 for tree trimming and shoulder work.

PŪʻAINAKŌ STREET (HIGHWAY 2000)

HILO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.5 and 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 23-27 for striping and installing new raised pavement markers.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.5 and 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, from 5 to 11:30 p.m. June 23-27 for installation of asphalt curbs.
