Scheduled Hawai‘i Island lane closures on state roadways for May 27-30

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures and road work projects for state roadways on the Big Island during the week of May 27-30.

MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 11)

NĀʻĀLEHU

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile post 58 to 60, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 27-30 for cutting gass.

HŌNAUNAU

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 97.2 and 104.7, in the vicinity of Hālēʻili Road and Filipino Clubhouse Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 27-30 for safety improvements.
• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 105 and 107, in the vicinity of Filipino Clubhouse Road and Rabbit Hill Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 27-30 for grass cutting and shoulder work.

KAMEHAMEHA AVENUE (ROUTE 11)

HILO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in either direction in the vicinity of mile post 9 at Banyan Drive from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. May 27-30 for maintenance on the islands and center line.

HAWAIʻI BELT ROAD (HIGHWAY 19)

HAKALAU

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 15.5 and 16.5, in the vicinity of Old Māmalahoa Highway and Kauniho Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 27-30 for tree trimming and shoulder work.

LAPĀHOEHOE

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 23 and 26, in the vicinity of Koi Loop, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 27-30 for cutting grass.

KEAʻAU-PĀHOA ROAD (HIGHWAY 130)

PĀHOA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 10 to 12, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 27-30 for cutting grass.

PĀHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (HIGHWAY 130)

PĀHOA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 16 to 18, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 27-30 for cutting grass, tree trimming and shoulder work.

MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 190)

WAIMEA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0 and 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lālāmilo Farm Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 27-30 for paving and striping.

SOUTH KOHALA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 12.2 and 16.4 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. May 27-30 for paving and striping.

KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (HIGHWAY 250)

KAPAʻAU

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 9 and 12 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 27-30 for tree trimming and shoulder work.

PŪʻAINAKŌ STREET (HIGHWAY 2000)

HILO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.5 and 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 27-30 for striping and installing raised pavement markers.
