Scheduled Hawai‘i Island lane closures on state roadways for April 19-25
Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures and road work projects for state roadways on the Big Island during the week of April 19-25.

KANOELEHUA AVENUE (HIGHWAY 11)
HILO
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.4 and 0.9, in the vicinity of Piʻilani Street and Leilani Street, from 8 to 11 a.m. April 21-22 for maintaining lane lines at the intersection and crosswalks.
MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 11)
PĀHALA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 54 and 56 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21-25 for cutting grass.
HŌNAUNAU
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 97.2 and 104.7, in the vicinity of Hālēʻi Road and Filipino Clubhouse Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 21-25 for safety improvements.
CAPTAIN COOK
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 108 and 109, in the vicinity of Government Main Road and Koa Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21-25 for mowing and shoulder work.
HŌLUALOA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 117 and 118 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21-25 for mowing and shoulder work.
HAWAIʻI BELT ROAD (HIGHWAY 19)
HILO
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 4 and 5, in the vicinity of Kahoa Place, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21-25 for mowing.
HONOMŪ TO HAKALAU
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 13.5 and 15, in the vicinity of Honomū Road and Chin Chuck Road, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21-25 for tree trimming and shoulder work.
NĪNOLE
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 19.4 and 19.45 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 21 for inspection of Nīnole Stream Bridge.
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 18.5 and 18.6 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 22 for inspection of Waikaumalo Stream Bridge.
HONOHINA/NĪNOLE
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 17.6 and 17.7 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 23 for inspection of Ōpeʻa Stream Bridge.
HAKALAU
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 15.2 and 15.3, in the vicinity of Old Māmalahoa Highway, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 24 for maintenance on Hakalau Stream Bridge.
KAWAIHAE ROAD (HIGHWAY 19)

- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 62 and 66 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21-25 for cutting grass.
PĀHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (HIGHWAY 130)

- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 19 and 21 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21-25 for cutting grass and shoulder work.
MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 190)
WAIMEA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0 and 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lālāmilo Farm Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 21-25 for paving and striping.
SOUTH KOHALA
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 9.7 and 12.2 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 21-25 for striping and installation of raised pavement markers.
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 12.2 and 16.4 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 21-25 for paving and striping.
‘AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (HIGHWAY 270)
KAWAIHAE
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 3 and 12 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 21-25 for shoulder work.
PŪʻAINAKŌ STREET (HIGHWAY 2000)
HILO
- SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction between mile posts 0.5 and 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 21-25 for striping and installing raised pavement markers.
