All Hawaiʻi County solid waste facilities to be closed Thanksgiving Day

All Hawaiʻi County solid waste facilities will be closed Thursday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday and the Department of Environmental Management is asking for the public’s kōkua (help) during the annual closure.

Do not litter or illegally dump any materials at closed facilities, including county rubbish transfer stations.

Solid waste facilities and services are scheduled to resume normal operations Friday. Click here to find regular operating hours, locations and additional information.

“Happy Thanksgiving from [the Department of Environmental Management] ʻohana to your ʻohana, and mahalo for your cooperation,” said the county Environmental Management Department in its announcement about the holiday closures.
