Students urged to register for 2024-25 Hawaiʻi LifeSmarts Competition

Do you have high school or middle school students students knowledgeable in subjects such as personal finance, consumer rights and responsibilities, the environment, health and safety or technology?

Think they could best others in a contest of whits in the same categories?

The Hawaiʻi Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs Business Registration Division invites teams to participate in the 2024-25 Hawaiʻi LifeSmarts Competition, a free education program that teaches students critial life skills in those 5 key areaa through online quizzes and in-person challenges.

Teams must consist of one adult coach/teacher and at least 4 students. Registration is now open online.

High school, or “varsity” teams, can participate in the online portion of the competition from Oct. 21 until 7 p.m. Dec. 6.

Middle school, or “junior varsity” teams, with students in grades 6 to 8, can participate in an online-only competition during the same time period.

The top 4 highest-scoring varsity teams will be invited to compete in the state championship Feb. 21, 2025, at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu.

The winning state team will have the opportunity to represent Hawaiʻi at the national LifeSmarts Competition April 24-27, 2025, in Chicago.
