Big Island weekly lane closures: Sept. 7 to Sept. 13

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures from Sept. 7 to Sept. 13.

All projects are weather permitting.

— MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

1) KEAAU TO KURTISTOWN

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 7 to 10, in the vicinity of Old Volcano Road and Hale Pule Loop, on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 9 to 13, in the vicinity of North Road and Enos Road, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13,  from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

— HAWAII BELT ROAD/ KAWAIHAE ROAD/KALANIANAOLE STREET (ROUTE 19) —

1) HILO

Single lane closure on Kalanianaole Street (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 0 to 0.6, in the vicinity of Kuhio Street and Banyan Way, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for work on a broken waterline.

2) HILO

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 2 to 4, in the vicinity of Pauahi Street and Wainaku Street, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

3) PAPAIKOU

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 7 to 7.5, in the vicinity of Old Mamalahoa Highway and Kalaoa Camp Road, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for tree trimming.

 4) NINOLE

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 18 to 19, in the vicinity of Old Mamalahoa Highway, on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

5) KAMUELA

Shoulder closure on Kawaihae Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 58 to 59, in the vicinity of Kohala Mountain Road, on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and shoulder work.

— KEAAU-PAHOA ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

1) KEAAU (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Keaau-Pahoa Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile post 3.8 to 5.1, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. for restriping the intersection of Keaau-Pahoa Road and Shower Drive. 1) KALAOA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 28 to 31, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for vegetation cutting.

— KEALAKEHE PARKWAY (ROUTE 197) —

1) KAILUA KONA

Single lane closure on Kealakehe Parkway (Route 197) possible in either direction between mile post 0.17 to 0.40, in the vicinity of Kamanu Street, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for paving of new bike lane and signage installations.

— DANIEL K. INOUYE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 200) —

3) PAAUILO

Single lane closure on Daniel K. Inouye Highway (Route 200) possible in either direction between mile post 34 to 36, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for culvert inlet and outlet cleaning.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) —

1) KAMUELA 

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction, between mile post 6.2 to 10.6, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for application of permanent striping as part of the Kohala Mountain Road Resurfacing project.

— AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 270) —

1) KAWAIHAE

Single lane closure on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction, between mile post 1 to 4, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13 , from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

2) HAWI

Single lane closure on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction, between mile post 10 to 15, on Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13,  from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for shoulder work and tree trimming.

  — PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) —

1) HILO (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday, Sept. 9, through Friday, Sept. 6, from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving the roadway as part of the Puainako Street Widening Project.
