Jack in the Box Hilo gets special visit from Jack Box himself
If you work at a Jack in the Box and you get a visit from the man, the legend, the guy with the smiley face and pointy yellow hat himself, Jack Box, you know you did something right.
Imagine how the employees of the Hilo location of the national fast food chain felt when it happened to them last month.
Jack in the Box Hilo was rewarded with an exclusive visit from the beloved mascot and spokesperson of Jack in the Box because of the restaurant’s outstanding performance in a national sales contest for the new Smashed Jack burger.
The Hilo location landed in the top 3 overall out of more than 2,200 competing stores nationwide.
“This milestone shows the passion and dedication of our Hilo team,” said Glenn Dela Cruz, director of marketing for parent company Jack in the Box Hawai‘i. “Our focus on quality and providing guest service with aloha has truly paid off, and we are excited to continue bringing our Hawai‘i customers the best convenient dining experience possible.”

Jack in the Box Hawai‘i demonstrated exceptional performance in the contest; four of the company’s stores placed in the top 10 overall.
In addition to the Hilo store, the Kona location on the west side of the Big Island, Moanalua store on O‘ahu and Guam location also earned top honors, showcasing the dedication and hard work of the teams throughout the Pacific region.

The Smashed Jack burger, inspired by savory smashed style patties, is one of the latest offerings from the national chain.
It’s a new way for customers to enjoy the restaurant’s most popular item — burgers — and has quickly become a customer favorite.
