Permanent pavement striping, installation of loop detectors, signage upgrades and sidewalk repairs are underway on Kīlauea Avenue and Keawe Street, from Ponahawai Street to Waiānuenue Avenue.

Work begins today and will continue from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, weather permitting, through Aug. 30.

Motorists should anticipate one-lane closures and parking restrictions starting at Ponahawai and continuing to Waiānuenue. Exercise caution when traveling through the work area.

Sidewalks will remain open for pedestrians throughout the project period; however, alternate pedestrian routes are available via Kamehameha Avenue and Kinoʻole Street.
